2013

Birth of Hippo Plastique in Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo.

Hippo Plastique settles down at 44 avenue du Havre, on the road to the industrial base.

The Congolese people discover light, solid and long-lasting products. These new products facilitate their life and are used in numerous domains such as farming, industry and at home.

The water tanks allow to develop infrastructures in communities distant from cities and represent a real support for the everyday life of the local communities.

Hippo Plastique products are resistant to UV to prevent the development of seaweeds and are adapted to food use. They are also designed to resist the climate of Congo.

2013 – 2014

Order of the firsts moulds (rotomoulding) and production of the first water tanks and diesel tanks. Sales increase and the factory runs 24h/24h.

Hippo Plastique does not base its activity only on the petroleum industry and tries to impact the largest number of branches of industry: farming, fishing, construction, transportation, industries, as well as the private individuals. Hippo Plastique addresses all the Congolese population.

2014

Hippo Plastique spreads its activity among the Congolese territory through its distributors’ network located in various districts of Pointe-Noire, Brazzaville and Dolisie.

Today, Hippo Plastique products are distributed in more than 15 places through Congo! Detailed list of all our distributors on our website.

2016

Key project of this year: Hippo Plastique recycles locally the old corks of tankers in Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), broken water tanks, old beer lockers, etc. to reuse the material to make Hippo Relax water tanks. The recycling process is made locally at Hippo Plastique’ factory.

2017

Hippo Plastique gathers the whole team to think together about a name for 2 new ranges of water tanks.

After a vote, chosen names are Hippo Relax (for tanks consisted in 50 % of recycled plastic) and Hippo Gold (for tanks consisted to 100% of blank material)

« Relax » puts forward the fact that having a tank facilitates the everyday life and

« Gold » puts forward the quality of the plastic used to produce the tank.

2018

The Hippo family is growing and several products are entering the range! Solid and colorful baskets, chairs and tables, pallets and retention containers to meet the needs of companies in terms of HSE policy, lighted flowerpots for outdoor use, etc.

2019

Opening of a showroom in Brazzaville!

In order to be closer to our customers, we have opened a sales area in Mpila, former BAB, in front of “La Marine”. Please feel free to visit us.

2020

Hippo Plastique launches the new HIPPO AGRI range, intended for farmers, market gardeners and breeders: cheaper recycled material tanks, drinkers and feeders for animals, baskets for harvesting and transporting fruit and vegetables, etc.
